POTTERY WORKSHOP - VINCENNES, PARIS & FRANCE

Custom furniture design. When material becomes language.

——

Porcelain, crystallised enamels, bespoke pieces:
a space for expression and research serving interior design.

BIRTH

A creative workshop born out of necessity

——

Our workshop was born from the desire to fully develop our expertise, explore freely, and build a common project.

It exists for one purpose: to materialize our vision in matter.

It is a space for expression, research, and emancipation. A place where we can experiment, search, fail, and start over, until we reach a true form.

A SIGNATURE EMBEDDED IN PROJECTS

Beyond design

——

We are directly involved in creating the pieces that inhabit our spaces. Wall lights, handles, decorative elements, or furniture pieces. We design and craft bespoke objects and furniture that we integrate into our projects.

This approach allows us to place craftsmanship at the very heart of our architectural vision and to develop a unique signature, particularly through ceramics.

It also refines our perception of objects, their presence, and their rightful place in space.

AT THE HEART OF OUR PRACTICE

Porcelain, a material of metamorphosis

——

Porcelain is at the heart of our practice. We are fascinated by its capacity for metamorphosis: fine, dense, translucent, matte or glazed, it can take infinite forms, capture light, and reveal depths.

We develop our own glazes, particularly crystalline glazes, stemming from research conducted long before the creation of our studio, and which we continue to evolve today.

Each firing is a transformation. Each piece is the result of a balance between intention and material.

WHAT CRYSTALLIZED ENAMELS ARE

One of the rarest techniques in ceramics

——

Crystalline glazes are obtained by the formation of zinc silicate crystals on the surface of porcelain during high-temperature firing — up to 1300°C.

This process requires extreme control: the temperature rise, holding periods, and descent — everything is calculated to within a few degrees. The kiln is programmed for cycles lasting several hours, 36-hour cycles for a single firing.

Despite this rigor, crystallization remains unpredictable in its final form. Crystals develop at their own pace, in directions and sizes that are not fully controllable. Some pieces crystallize. Others do not.

SUBJECT

White porcelain with a high kaolin content, chosen for its density and translucency, provides the ideal base for crystallization.

ENAMEL

We formulate our own glazes, a mixture of silica, zinc oxide and colouring oxides, the proportions of which we have been varying over several years of research.

scarcity

Few ceramists master this technique; it requires years of research, a precision kiln, and a tolerance for failure that only passion can sustain.

It is precisely this uncontrollable aspect that makes each
piece absolutely unique.

A PROCESS BETWEEN PRECISION AND INTUITION

From intent to the right form

THE MOMENT OF FIRE

A passage. A moment suspended.

——

When the kiln is opened, nothing is ever entirely certain. The material has evolved, sometimes beyond what was expected. Porcelain shrinks, transforms; shapes can stretch, or become slightly distorted.

In the case of crystalline glazes, the material continues to evolve until the very last moments of firing. Crystals appear, developing sometimes where they are not expected.

This phenomenon remains partly unpredictable, but it is guided by our knowledge of glazes and their firing cycles.

We work with this element of uncertainty, as with all materials related to fire.

A subtle balance between mastery and letting go. A moment where
matter reveals what it has become.

AN ARCHITECTURE EXTENSION

Go beyond drawing with the creation of custom-made furniture

——

The workshop directly informs our architectural vision. It allows us to go beyond drawing, to intervene in the very fabric of the project.

Our ambition is to integrate these custom creations on an increasingly large scale: cladding, space dividers, furniture, structural elements.

Because every place, like every person, deserves a unique answer.

AN ONGOING DIALOGUE

Complementarity at the heart of every room

Our creations are born from dialogue. From the confrontation of our perspectives, our sensitivities, our demands. It is in this complementarity that the pieces take shape.

Laura

Gesture & Production

Accompanies the movement, particularly in engraving work and production phases.

Yohann

Expertise & Design

Transmits expertise from major manufacturers, guides design, proportions, and firing cycles.

We advance like alchemists, through trials, adjustments, intuition. We also leave room for accidents. For what the material reveals of itself.
